Week 1 Fantasy Beasts and Busts

Ok, here we go with some of the beasts for the first week of fantasy football. The first week is important becasue you dont want to start off slow. Here, I'll name the top 3 players and the bottom 3 for each position in my own wonderful opinion.

Quarterback Beasts for Week 1.

1. Matt Stafford. Should have the biggest week of all quarterbacks this week playing against a poor Rams secondary. Look for 300+ yards and 3 TD's this week.
2. Eli Manning. Eli is going to start off on the right foot tonight in primetime against a suspect Cowboy secondary. Look for a 300 yard day and 2 TD passes.
3. Matt Ryan. Ryan is hungry and ready to elevate to the next level. He will have his chance against the Chiefs. Look for about 275 yards and 2 TD passes.

Quarterback Busts.

1. Ryan Tannehill. He's a rookie and going against the Houston Texans defense. Good luck. Maybe he goes for 150, 0 TD's and 3 INT's.
2. Brandon Weeden. Again a rookie put against a good Eagle defense. Weeden will get sacked at least 4 times, throw 2 INT's and about 150 yards.
3. Peyton Manning. Manning's return comes against the Steelers. Manning has never done well against the Steelers and this game will be no different. He will get some yards, about 250, but I don't forsee a TD and 1 INT for Manning in his return.

Running Back Beasts.

1. Arian Foster. Foster has always come out the gate strong and he will again this week. He'll gain 150 rushing and add on another 50 receiving, with 2 TD's makes Foster the #1 pick at running back this week.
2. Matt Forte. Forte has a chip on his shoulder and he will take it out on the Colts. About 225 yards from scrimmage and a TD, and Forte is a dynamite option this week.
3. Fred Jackson. Jackson is always underrated, but he seems to put up big numbers at the start of the season. The Jets are trying to get themselves organized and Jackson will hurt them with 200 total yards and 2 TD's.

Running Back Busts.

1. Michael Turner. Turner will have a tough time against the size of the Chiefs front line and Atlanta will go bombs away in this game. Turner will produce about 50 yards and no scores.
2. Steven Jackson. The Lions want to prove they can stop the run and the Rams will be down early so they will have to pass, so Jackson will not be his normal value. No scores and about 75 total yards.
3. Reggie Bush. Bush had a breakout season, but this week he goes against a tough defense. No scores and about 75 total yards.

Wide Receiver Beasts.

1. Calvin Johnson. Johnson will start off with a bang against the Rams secondary. Megatron will get 150 and 2 TD's in this one.
2. Brandon Marshall. Marshall will come out strong against a suspect Colt secondary and get about 125 and a TD.
3. Julio Jones. Jones is going to be the difference maker for the Falcons. He's going to get single coverage and he will exploit that for 125 and a score.

Wide Receiver Busts.

1.  Stevie Johnson. Wins a trip to Revis Island. Nuff said. 0 catches for Stevie.
2. Greg Little. Poor guy gets a rookie QB and lines up against Nmandi. 20 yards max for Little.
3. Greg Jennings. Bad week for Jennings this week as Rogers will cover him well and Aaron Rodgers will look elsewhere to find holes in the 49er defense. He'll get 50 yards, but this is a one-time sit for Jennings.

Tight End Beasts.

1. Rob Gronkowski. Gronk will be Gronk and will continue to dominate. He will get you a 100 yards and a TD.
2. Jimmy Graham. Yep, I'm going on a big limb with the first 2 here, but Jimmy will try and keep pace with Gronk all year, he will get you 80 and a score.
3. Brandon Pettigrew. Great matchup. He should find holes in the Ram defense. He'll get 75 and a score.

Tight End Busts.

1. Fred Davis. Coming back from injury and will be covered well by the Saints and RG3 will be under pressure. Maybe 30 yards for Davis.
2. Coby Fleener. His first start against the Bears. They will contain him in their Tampa 2 defense. He'll get targets but no more than 40 yards for the rook.
3. Jermichael Finley. Trying to make a living against the middle of the 49er defense is going to be a tough day for Finley. Rodgers will force some passes so Finley may get 50 yards, but no scores for Finley.

Kicker Beasts.

1. Jason Hanson. The Lions will score on the Rams a lot. Hanson should rack up double digit points this week.
2. Robbie Gould. The Bears will move the ball on the Colts and Gould will also get you double digit points this week.
3. Matt Prater. The Broncos will kick FG's against the Steelers, so Prater shuld get you 9 points this week.

Kicker Busts.

1. Dan Carpenter. The Dolphins will get shut out by the Texans.
2. Phil Dawson. The Browns will get shut out by the Eagles.
3. Greg Zuerlein. The Rams won't score much all year and this guy may be here every week. He'll get an extra point as the Lions give up a cheap score.

Defenses.

1. Houston. Playing the Dolphins. They should pitch the shut out and force turnovers.
2. Eagles. Playing the Browns. They also should get a shut out with sacks and turnovers.
3. Lions. Playing the Rams. They will get sacks and turnovers and keep the score down.

Defense Busts.

1. Rams. The high-powered piston like offense of the Lions will light up the Rams like a pinball machine.
2. Dolphins. The Texans will put up big numbers on offense and the Dolphins will be looking for their week 2 opponent by halftime.
3. Colts. The new 3-4 scheme will be pushed by the Bears and put up some big numbers.

Well here's my Week 1 forecast. Take head to these projections and place your lineup accordingly. Enjoy Football season being back!!
