Playoff Predictions for the NFL season.

Ok, here's the big gamble here. Picking the Super Bowl champion before the season officially starts is always a risky proposition, but oh well here goes nothing.

First off, we start with the AFC. The Patriots and Texans will receive first round byes, with the Texans having the number one seed overall based on beating the Patriots in the regular season.

Wild Card round.
(3) Baltimore Ravens defeat the (6) Pittsburgh Steelers.  Ravens are just a little more solid all-around than the Steelers right now.
(5) Cincinati Bengals defeat (4) Denver Broncos. Peyton will get the Broncos into the playoffs, but Dalton and Green will be too much for the Broncos.

Divisional round.

(1) Houston Texans defeat (5) Cincinati Bengals. In a rematch of last year's wild card playoff game, the Texans will be too much for the Bengals, but Cincinati will give them a fight.
(3) Baltimore Ravens defeat (2) New England Patriots. In a rematch of last year's AFC Championship game this time the Ravens will take care of the New England. This year it won't come down to a last second field goal attempt.

AFC Championship

Houston Texans defeat Baltimore Ravens. Yes, I predict this is the year the Texans go to the Super Bowl. They have the best all-around roster on offense and defense and they will get to celebrate on their home field.

NFC playoffs. The Packers and Falcons will get first round byes. The 49ers will have the same record but lose out, because they will lose to both team this season, due to the bad luck of playing both of those teams on the road.

Wild Card round.

(3) San Francisco defeats (6) Chicago Bears. In a defensive battle, the 49ers will make one more big play and pull out an old-school, knockdown, drag-out fight.
(5)Detroit Lions defeat (4) New York Giants. Maybe this is a bit of a heart pick, but the Lions do match up with the Giants well and will be a shoot out, with a late Stafford to Johnson play at the end.

Divisional Round

(1) Green Bay Packers defeat (5) Detroit Lions. Yes, it pains me to say this, but the Lions are not ready to beat the Packers in this type of game. January in Wisconsin = advantage to the Packers.
(2) Atlanta Falcons defeat (3) San Francisco 49ers. It's Matt Ryan's time to win a playoff game and he will do so in a tough game, but he will make one more play to Julio Jones to pull out the win.

NFC Championship

(2) Atlanta Falcons defeat (1) Green Bay Packers. Just a hunch. Really this game could go either way, I just have a gut feeling about Atlanta this year.

SUPER BOWL

Houston Texans vs. Atlanta Falcons. In a matchup of two high-powered offenses, it will be Houston's #1 ranked defense that will carry them to victory. The Falcons will score, but Houston will get enough stops and Arian Foster will add Super Bowl MVP to his resume. Final score Houston 31 Atlanta 27.

Well, those are my predictions for the post-season. Again, we'll see in about 6 months how right I am.
